Collaborate on
a shared desk

Invite people onto your desk. Work through the project together, or ask them what they think of it. The photos, the book and the conversation stay in one place.

01 / 04Invite

Invite people onto your desk

Or send a page anyone can open

Invite people to work on your photo project with you, on the same desk. A second editor moves and grades beside you, a client looks and says what they think. Share the desk once and send the link to whoever you like.

The desk, and the card that shares itShare this desk

Previews

Sharing uploads a preview JPEG of each photo, never your original files. Those stay in the folder on your computer, and what your guests see is the desk as you left it.

The link

One link per desk. Send it in a message or a mail, however you like, and it opens the same desk in their browser.

Account

The people you invite sign in with a free Abney account, so every comment and every move carries a name. Nothing else is asked of them.

02 / 04Manage

Manage your shared desk

The desk stays yours. You decide what your guests may do, who stays on it, and when the sharing ends.

Who is on the desk, and what each of them may doPeople

Edit or view

An editor works the desk as you do: moves photos, grades them, builds the book. A viewer sees the desk and comments, and cannot move a thing. Change a person's role any time.

Remove

Remove someone from the desk and they lose access at once. Their comments stay, so the conversation still reads.

Offline

Take the link offline and the uploaded previews are removed from Abney's servers. Your project on your own machine keeps working as before, and you can share it again later.

03 / 04Live

Walk through the pictures together

Two people on the desk at the same time see each other's cursor fly around. Walk through the pictures together, point at the one you mean, and settle the feedback in one go instead of a week of mails.

Cursors

Every person on the desk has a cursor with their name on it, in their own colour, so you always know who is pointing at what.

Find them

Click a name and go to their cursor, or see what they have selected. Then you are back on your own desk.

Together

Open a book together and turn the same spread, or shuffle the same photos side by side. Every move lands on both screens as it happens.

04 / 04Comments

Comment on a photo or a book

Then sell copies from the link

Press N and click a spot on a photograph or a book page. The comment sits exactly where you meant it, and so does the answer. Ask people what they think, and resolve a comment once it is settled.

They stick

A comment stays on the photo or the book page it was left on and follows it around the desk, when you move it, resize it or shuffle the sequence.

Notified

When someone leaves a comment, Abney tells you, with the desk it is on and the photo it is about, and takes you straight to it.

Resolve

Resolve a comment and it is hidden from the desk. The words stay, so you can read later how a decision was made.
